Christmas Eve at Belmont featured a candlelight service with Silent Night being sung by all. The message focused on Mary and all that she pondered and remembered following the birth of her son Jesus. Joy, peace, hope and love is the message of Christmas. Rev. Larry Cochran offered the message using Luke 2:1-20 as scripture. MaryKaye Cochran sang a solo titled “When Love Was Born.”
At the 10:00 service on Christmas Eve, Rev. Dr. Gwen Andrews offered the message about God’s love for each of us as demonstrated through the birth of Jesus. The message today focused on John the Baptist and his message of repentance, turning back to God. Rev. Dr. Jim Melson offered the message that was compelling and inspiring using Mark 1:1-8 as the scripture. For the November 12, the worship service focused on passing the baton in our spiritual journey. Rev. The message on All Saints Day focusing on generosity. Lay Leader Marie Coone offered the message which was based on 2 Corinthians 9:6-8.
