On this Pentecost Sunday, Rev. Gwen offered the message based on Acts 2:1-21. The message focused on the birth of the church as the Holy Spirit descended on the early believers. The message can be seen here and on our Facebook live site.
On May 17th, Rev. Gwen offered the message based on John 17:1-10 where Jesus calls for us to be united as one as we live out our faith. Marie Coone served as worship leader.
On May 10th, we learned about the story of Matthius who took the place of Judas after the resurrection of Jesus. The passage from Acts 1:15-17, 21-26 spoke to us about how each one of us are leaders in one way or another as we share with others the love of Christ. Pastor Larry offered the messag on this Mother’s Day.
On this first Sunday of May, Pastor Larry offered the message based on Acts 10:44-48.. This is the story of Cornelius and Peter. Peter learns through this encounter and through the Holy Spirit that God welcomes all people into a relationship with Him. Brendan Paget served as worship leader.
On April 26th, worship focused the scripture from John 10:1-10 where Jesus shares the story of the shepherd and how the sheep know his voice. Rev. Gwen offered the message on this day.
On April 19th, Rev. Dr. Gwen Andrews offered the message based on the story of the road to Emmaus found in Luke 24:13-35. The story described the experience of two disciples walking along the road and Jesus joins them. What happens next is an expereince each one of us can have.
On April 12th, Pastor Larry offered the message from John 20:19-31. This is the story of Thomas after the resurrection of Jesus. He was in the room when Jesus appeared to the other disciples. He has been labeled as doubting Thomas but in reality he needed to see the evidence. Jesus came to him later and he believed. Jesus meets each one of us where we are in our faith journey. This is a story of grace.
On this Easter Sunday, we celebrated the risen Christ. Pastor Larry offered the message from John 20:1-18. We looked at the life of Mary Magdalene and how she responded to the ressurection of Jesus. Mark Blankenship led the choir in music with a solo by MaryKaye Cochran.
Good Friday Service– At Belmont, we will offer a Good Friday service on April 3rd at 7:00 PM. This will be a tenebra service. A Service of Tenebrae, or “Darkness,” is an extended meditation on the passion of Christ. Easter Service– We will gather at 11:00 on April 5th to celebrate the Risen Christ in our Easter Service. This will be a great time of worship and celebration as we gather to experience the presence of God as we worship…
