Our Hispanic/Latino congregation joined with our 10:00 AM congregation to worship God in a bi-lingual service. Pastor Julio Serrano offered a message in Spanish while Pastor Larry Cochran offered the message in English. The worship also included a foot-washing based on John 13. Ester Serrano offered a solo for us in Spanish.
Our choir under the director of Dr. Michael Ross presented the annual Easter Cantata to the glory of God. MaryKaye Cochran, Kay Nicholas and Dave Barden offered solos that blessed us all. On March 26th, Rev. Autumn Merrill offered the message from Matthew 7:7. We are challenged to persevere in our prayer life. The words of Jesus imploring us to seek, ask and knock gives us a way forward in our prayer life that can be a breakthrough for us.
On March 19th, the service focused on the verse from the Lord’s Prayer- “Your will be done”. This prayer reminds us that God wants the best for us as we pray that God’s desire is done in our life and in the life of the church. Dr. Michael Ross led the choir in music. For the March 12th service, Rev. Dr. Gwen Andrews offered the message from Genesis 1:3-4. The message focused on how God’s light shines so that we can see clearly enough to help us see our circumstances and gain wisdom. Dr. Michael Ross led the the choir in music.

For the February 26th service, Rev. Dr. Gwen Andrews preached this message from Psalm 61:1-2. The Good Trouble conference was held on February 25th. Rev. Autumn Merrill preached at our closing worship service with a message titled, “Words Create Worlds.” She preached from James 5. Dr. Michael Ross led us in music. Rev. Merrill’s message begins at 34 minutes into this post.
Rev. Dr. Clarence Brown shared at the conference about good trouble in our churches and in our community. He challenged us to look for the the pain in our community and to see how we can make a difference in the lives of others. We are to focus on our mission as a church.
